Brush and Yard Waste Pick-up

The City of Oneonta Department of Public Service announces that Curbside residential brush and yard waste pick-up is nearing completion. Residents should have brush and yard waste out no sooner than the weekend before the scheduled pick-up to prevent possible code violation.

Revised Brush and Yard Waste Schedule

Wards 1-4 will be picked up the week of October 16, alternating weeks through November.
Wards 5-8 will be picked up the week of October 23, alternating weeks through November.

Please place brush and yard waste at the curb by 7:00am on the Monday of your scheduled week.

- 3" max diameter (logs cannot be split)
- 4' max limb length
- NO contractor removals or trimmings, residential brush only
- Brush/limbs must not be tied, bundled, in containers, bagged, or in the street

Yard waste:
- Must be in closed biodegradable yard waste bags, max 50lbs per bag – do not overfill
- Bags may contain leaves, twigs, evergreen clippings, roots, stumps, and plants
- Bags may not contain rocks, dirt, lumber, firewood, household trash, or foreign objects

- Place in the median, between the sidewalk and the curb, or behind sidewalk if no median
- Keep away from mailboxes, utility poles/boxes, hydrants, and parked vehicles
- Separate brush piles from bags of yard waste
